The Northern Karoo Basin has a strong record of gas occurrence, with more than 50 legacy wells drilled, all encountering gas-bearing reservoirs.

South Africa faces an impending gas supply cliff, with Sasol stating that it can no longer supply natural gas to its customers from 2030.
