Iraqi Kurdistan Sarsang License
HKN Energy Ltd are seeking investemnt in the production of the fields in the Sarsang block, where production is limited by infrastructure such as the KRG pipeline which is currently under construction.
The Sarsang block contains two fields:
Swara Tika – Swara Tika is currently the most significant production asset with over 29,000 bopd from two facilities and six wells. Current production is focused on the gross 2P reserves in the Triassic reservoir. Triassic reserves are high quality oil with API gravity of 36-39 API. Today HKN’s oil production is trucked to Fishkhabur with plans to connect it via a KRG pipeline currently under construction.
East Swara Tika – East Swara Tika has one well currently producing approximately 2,500 bopd. East Swara Tika is estimated to contain significant resources and high quality light oil in the Triassic with API gravity of 36-39 degrees.
